1. Wrought Iron

Wrought iron offers buyers quality, durability, easy maintenance but not without cost. To elaborate on the features:

This product offers high quality. It can withstand time offering buyers less replacement pieces over time.

Durability is a great quality when it comes to wrought iron. This type of material is heavy duty all around. From the frame to the construction it can withstand almost any type of weather from wind to snow.

It is fairly easy to keep this product clean. Water and a hose will usually take care of most of the cleanup and rusting is only minimal. If your product does rust, however, you can correct it with a few simple and easy steps.

The price of wrought iron is expensive. But in the long run it may be worth it because it does not need replaced often.

This type of material can come in both larger and smaller pieces. You can purchase pieces individually or in sets. They come in many different styles to suit almost anyone’s taste. Whether it is a three-pieced bistro set or something much larger you will be sure to find exactly what you are looking for in wrought iron.

2. Plastic

Purchasing plastic sets or individual pieces offers many advantages and disadvantages. Some of them include but are not limited to:

Cheaper quality and not as durable. While plastic is a fairly good item it is not meant to last a lifetime. You will more than likely have to replace several pieces in your lifetime even if you do care for them and store them away in colder months. The material cracks and breaks easily.

Great bang for the buck. While it may not last if you are looking for a temporary outdoor look then this type is definitely worth the money. You can probably purchase an entire set for the amount of money that it would cost for a wrought iron chair.

Prone to mold and mildew. This type of material can collect mold and mildew. It can be easily cleaned with special cleaners.

Easy fuss-free maintenance. Warm soapy water is really all that’s needed to get them clean. The dirt and grime is pretty easy to remove without much effort.

You can purchase plastic pieces as both large and small items and in sets as well. Typically you will not pay much for an entire set but it probably will not last for very long unless you take extremely good care of it. Over time the sun will cause it to fade and you will need to store it away in the colder months. It is susceptible to blowing around in high winds and bad weather.

3. Aluminum

Aluminum products come in a many different styles and variations. You can get larger or smaller pieces in this type as well.

Easy fuss-free maintenance. Like the others a hose and soapy water can get most of the dirt and grime off.

Does rust occasionally at the welding points. You can remove the rust by following a few simple steps which can help restore it to its natural beauty.

Expensive. While not as expensive as wrought iron it does come with a heftier price tag than some other materials on the market. But it does last for a very long time.

Sturdy and high quality. This is a fairly lightweight item but it is pretty sturdy. It will stay put in high winds and heavy rains.

Aluminum offers a cheaper alternative to wrought iron while offering many of the same qualities. It is stylish and comes in many shapes and sizes to meet your particular needs.

4. Wood

Wood is naturally beautiful and is of great quality.

Low maintenance. While it does require a protective sealant every few years it does not require much else in the way of maintenance.

Fair price tag. While the prices will vary, it will depend on the type of wood furniture that you choose to purchase. Some wood is higher quality than others and looks more pleasing to the eye.

Durable and heavy. It is harder to move which can be a great feature in patio furniture. You will want an item that will hold up to the elements.

Unique and stylish. You can get this material to match almost any taste and personality. You can jazz it up with decorative and colorful pillows as well.

5. Wicker

Wicker furniture is another popular type. It can be purchased in many different sizes, colors and styles just like many of the other types found on the market today.

Easy cleaning and fuss-free maintenance. While it may be a little more time consuming to get the dirt out of the creases and cracks it is still fairly easy to clean with simply soapy warm water and a garden hose.

The price is also reasonable for this type of material. It is about a mid-ranged price point for patio furniture which is more pleasing to the pocket than more expensive materials.

It is not made for a lifetime. This product can last for a while if taken care of properly and stored properly during colder months but it is not a product that maintains its looks and style for many years.

While wicker is more comfortable and durable than some others on the market it is not the best choice if you are looking for a high quality product. It will last for a few years if taken care of properly.

What Size is Right for Me?

You may be like most others and find it difficult to determine what size patio set is right for you. Here are a few tips that can help you make a decision.

How many people will I need to seat? This is a great question and one that you should ask yourself before making a purchase. If you do a lot of entertaining or even just have a big family then you may want to invest in more chairs and seating than what comes in a set. Remember, you do not want your guests to have to stand so make sure you have plenty of space to accommodate everyone!

How big is my outdoor space? If you live in an apartment or have a small outdoor living space then perhaps scaling down is the best option for you. If you have a large backyard but do not entertain much then spending a lot of money on a large set may not make sense. If you are an avid outdoor griller and entertainer then investing in a larger set with multiple seating options may be a better fit for you.

How much do I want to spend? The budget is the question. The bigger or more durable the more likely it will cost. Try to keep your budget in mind when making a decision. The less durable the cheaper it will be but more likely than not you will have to replace it.

How long should it last for? Quality will last a lifetime. It is a good idea to remember that the better material you purchase the longer it will last. Spending less money on patio furniture may result in having to replace it in just a few short years. Opting to spend a little more in the beginning on something that is going to last may be the smarter option.

Spice it Up with Accessories

Most people choose to buy some popular accessories to go along with their new purchases. Regardless of your style there are accessories to match every need and want.

Keep the bugs away! You can purchase special netting to go around your patio furniture that both zips up and ties back. This allows for a nice cool breeze to come through but eliminates all those pesky flies.

A shield from the sun! Umbrellas are a great investment if you are sensitive to the sun or if you spend a large amount of time relaxing in the backyard. They come in a wide variety of styles, shapes and can match almost any décor.

Let’s chow down! Bring out the beverage cart. This is a great addition to any backyard patio set. It is a great entertainment piece and works well at all your backyard barbeques.

Shine those lights! While outdoor patio sets are great they are not very useful when the lights go out. Keep the party alive by buying some patio lights. They come in great colors and sizes and you can string them along throughout the backyard or stick lighting torches along your sidewalk to add additional lighting to brighten up all your outdoor fun.

Please the seats! When you purchase patio furniture it is not likely going to come with cushions. They are, however, necessary for maximal comfort. While the chairs are nice and pleasing to the eye they may not be very comfortable to sit in. Purchasing cushions can not only add to the comfort but can also help you add your own unique style and flair. They can add a great conversation piece to any backyard party!

More seating please! Add more seating with a bench. You can purchase benches that match your current furniture or you can get a bench that has its own personality. They come in the same types of materials as the furniture and can add ample seating to any cozy environment.

Best and Worst Color Choices

While patio sets and cushions come in many different styles and colors, not all colors are created equal. There are some colors you may want to stay away from and some that you might want to consider!

Worst Colors

Red

Pink

Green

Yellow

Black

It is recommended that you shy away from bright colors like these and the reason really is because of they will fade. It is not necessarily that they are bad color choices but you will be investing money in something that will eventually need to be replaced. While patio sets are used to enjoy the sun your cushions will take a beating.

Best Colors

White

Beige

Brown

These are good neutral colors that do not fade quite as easily. They are colors that can go with practically any color accessories. One disadvantage to these colors is they show the dirt more easily. You should think about how much time you want to invest in keeping them clean.

Every color has its advantages and disadvantages. It really is a personal taste and you should choose colors that you are happy with despite the maintenance or upkeep involved.

Online or In-Store

Both options offer great benefits and features. Which is right for you?

Online

More variety.

Special deals.

In-Store

Ability to sit, see and feel the product and determine quality.

You can take it home instantly with no waiting.

No shipping fees.

What to Keep In Mind

In summary it is important to remember these key things:

Keep your budget in mind. There is something out there for every budget.

Do not compromise on style. Keep your flair and style.

Remember your space. It’s important to remember what size area you are working with before making your purchase.

Will it last? Remember that quality determines how long it will last. Spending a little more will give you a better, longer lasting product.

Spend a little time shopping before you make your final decision. You will be happy to see that there are deals online and in stores that you may not have even thought you would find.

There are many different types of materials that are used in the manufacturing of outdoor patio furniture today. Not all of them rust but some do. Some of the products that do rust are:

Unpainted aluminum

Painted aluminum

These are just two of the more basic materials that are used in outdoor furniture for your yard or terrace. There are other materials that are less likely to rust but if you, like many, have aluminum furniture here are a few quick tips on how to properly care for them.

Unpainted Aluminum

Aluminum is popular because it is durable and does not require too much attention or work. There are two types; painted and unpainted. The unpainted will not rust but oxidation is a factor. This actually protects the material from the outdoor elements however it does leave the look less desirable. You can doctor up the look by using a metal polishing paste or a wire brush. Do not use ammonia to clean your aluminum furniture as it is better to use a natural acid from products like lemon juice, vinegar or even lime. If the aluminum is very dirty then commercial removers are available. Aluminum outdoor furniture can be a great product as it offers an alternative for outdoor living.

Painted Aluminum

In order to prevent your painted furniture from rusting you should try very carefully not to chip the paint off of it. The paint allows for a protective cover, however, once chipped you are exposing the metal below it and allowing for the weather to affect it. You would, however, clean it the same as you would the untreated aluminum.

The Removal Process

When you start to notice rust on your furniture there are a few steps you can take.

Take a wire brush to the rusted area.

Apply naval jelly to the area. This is a phosphoric acid, or mineral acid. You should use precautions when using this type of product and do it in a well-ventilated area. Once you apply this product you need to let it dry. Once dry use a sand paper to smooth over the area.

Consider repainting the product either the same color as before or be bold and choose something else. If the furniture was not painted before you may want to consider it as it will act as a protective coat over the aluminum.

Using Household Products

You can use household products to remove rust as well. One of the more popular items that you can use is Coca-Cola. The process is shown below:

Scrape away the rust using a wire brush or steel wool.

Wipe away all particles after brushing the surface.

Put Coca-Cola into a bowl and dip aluminum foil into it and roll it into a ball.

Wipe down the furniture with a garden hose or mild soapy water.

It’s best to apply a sealant at this point to protect the furniture longer. Remember that everyone’s taste and style is different and regardless of whether your outdoor furniture is prone to rust or not there are ways to help make it beautiful again.

Depending on where you shop for your next patio furniture set you may find it cheaper to buy a whole set rather than just a couple of pieces here and there.

Depending on what it is that you are planning to replace opting to get everything new may make more sense for your budget in the long run. While larger sets are typically more expensive than smaller ones your choice will depend solely on what you are looking for.

You should ask yourself these few basic questions prior to making a final decision:

How many pieces am I looking for?

What type of material am I looking for?

How long do I want to keep it looking “good” for?

What kind of accessories am I planning to purchase with it?

These four questions can really help you to make a decision. If you are only looking for a couple of chairs then it is bound to be less expensive than buying a five or six piece set. However, if you are looking to purchase a set of wrought iron chairs to replace your older plastic ones then two chairs made from higher quality material are going to cost much more than two plastic chairs made of cheaper quality materials.

If you are trying to replace one type of material for the same material and are only looking for a newer, fresher look then you should shop around and look for deals. Check your local paper or the Internet for options. Sometimes special sales will leave you with a better bang for your buck.

If you are looking for pieces that are going to outlast time then it may be a better idea to purchase the entire set and the reason for this is because it will last longer. If you buy plastic chairs to replace plastic chairs, chances are you are going to be purchasing them often, perhaps even more than once a year.

If you spend more money upfront to get a better quality product then you will be spending about the same amount of money when it is all said and done. You may be familiar with the phrase “throwing good money after bad”. This concept may be true for patio furniture as well.

Accessories can also add to the overall cost. If you purchase plastic chairs chances are you are not going to be looking for cushions to put on them. However, if you purchase any of the other materials they may be uncomfortable without cushions. Depending on how many chairs you will be purchasing that can really add up if you are getting a whole new complete set.

It is really hard to determine which is more expensive without knowing all the details. Quality does make a difference and so do everyday factors like sales and specials. The smartest thing you can do when thinking of purchasing a new set, or pieces, is to start doing some research before purchasing. Look online, in stores, in advertisements and even ask around for some helpful advice from friends and family.

What Table Will Fit Your Needs

There are several things to consider when you are selecting a table for your patio set.

The amount of people who will be using it.

Do you need the option of a leaf? If you may have a larger group of people using the table every now and then, this may be something to consider.

Selecting a material that fits your needs as well as your taste.

The size of outdoor space you have available. Putting a table that is to large in to the space may make it difficult to use.

Important Things Too Consider When Selecting A Patio Table

1. Be realistic about how much space you actually have for a table. Tables also come in different heights. There are three sizes readily available.

The most popular dining table is 29 inches tall.

The bar height tables are 42 inches tall.

A chat height table is 23 inches tall and used more in a conversation type setting.

2. Know your budget. The price range for tables can vary greatly. Knowing your budget will help narrow your choices. Doing some online research on specific brands you are familiar with can also help. Keep in mind that buying a patio set that includes both the table and the chairs is usually more economical and convenient. On the other hand, purchasing a table and chairs individually can open up design and style options that may fit your needs better.

3. You should know what your needs are. How much seating do you need? Will you need to accommodate more people on occasion? If so, finding a table that has a leaf may be a good option for you. For dining a round or square table 36 – 46 inches will seat four to six people. If you need to accommodate six or more a rectangular table works well.

4. What type and style of table fits your tastes? Choose a table that fits in with the overall style and design of your outdoor space. A table often acts as the centerpiece and can provide that “wow” factor. Also, consider what kind of accessories, if any, you would like to use on the table.

5. Weather should also be taken into consideration. If you live an area where the wind blows frequently, a heavier table would be a better choice. If your table is going to be in direct sunlight or will be sitting out in the rain a durable, weather resistant, fade resistant material would be a good choice.

6. Think about what kind of chairs you would like to have. You will need to make sure that they will be able to fit around the table properly and you can get the amount of seating you will require. If you choose to buy a complete patio set, you don’t have to worry about the table and chairs not being the right size for one another.

7. Consider the amount of maintenance involved. Some materials must be painted to ensure weatherproofing. Some wooden styles may need to be stained and resealed.

Before selecting the set that is right for you, you may want to consider the size of the space you are planning to put it in. Along with this here are some other pointers you can use to help you choose the right sized furniture for your needs and environment.

1. Space

For small cramped spaces you may want to consider products like three-pieced bistro sets. A bistro set works best for small balconies or for more relaxed intimate settings.

For larger backyards and porches you may opt to go with something larger. This is particularly good if you have a large family and need more seating. Perhaps a five-piece set would better suit your needs than something with only three chairs.

It may be wise to measure your outdoor space. If you do live in cramped quarters or perhaps have a large backyard but only want to devote a portion of it to your patio set it is best to know how much room you are working with before making a purchase.

2. Suit Your Needs

If you entertain a lot then maybe a bar set would be the best option for you. It allows for a relaxed atmosphere while adding ample seating for all of your guests. It is also great for parties.

Perhaps you are one of those people who do not always think larger is necessarily better. Just because you have the space for something larger does not mean that you want to purchase something larger.

3. Keep Style in Mind

If your personal taste and style is not to go large then perhaps something smaller is better. Even if you find a set that you like it is probably possible to purchase it in smaller pieces. For instance, if it comes with six chairs you may be able to buy three chairs instead.

The types of things that you like will also help you to determine what sizes work best for your outdoor living space. For instance, if you do not want a heavy weighed down look then maybe wrought iron or aluminum is not the style you are looking for. While these options are more durable they are very heavy large pieces. Wicker or plastic may be a better option for you.

4. Be Budget Conscious

More likely than not your budget is going to be a large determining factor in what size patio set you select. The bigger and more durable the more it is likely to cost. So if your budget is low perhaps sticking with wicker or plastic may be a better option.

If you have your heart set on a larger piece but do not have the money or the room then try getting it with fewer pieces. Often if you can get it in five pieces you can also get it in three and it will be much more pocket friendly.

When you make the decision to create a resting place for you and your family you will want to really consider the type of furniture that you want to use. The right furniture will help create a great atmosphere and it will also provide comfort for those individuals that decide to sit on it. Therefore, you might want to think about wicker sets that you can place on your patio.

Manufacturing

If you have ever seen a wicker patio set then you have probably wondered how they are made. Well, most of the time the furniture is produced by using different machines. That is the way that technology works today. However, there is a great deal of time and efficiency that goes into the weaving process.

The process starts by taking cellulose fibers and twisting them. They are then dipped into glue that will help keep them strong. This is great because it also helps keep the wicker from peeling and it helps keep the fibers from breaking and coming undone. This means that you furniture will last much longer and it will continue to look great.

Once the pre-treating has taken place, the wicker is weaved in order to create the great furniture that you are considering purchasing. Then, the entire piece is dipped into glue once more so that it will be protected against the elements as it sits outside or on your porch.

Advantages of Wicker

Strength and Durability

Because of the way that the wicker furniture is manufactured, you will find that it is very strong. The weaving process, along with the glue that it is dipped in, will help keep it strong so that you do not have to worry about it breaking or chipping.

Atmosphere

Because the wicker is natural, it creates an amazing atmosphere no matter where it is used. It seems natural and it tends to relax the senses. That is part of its charm and what makes it so great to use when you are creating a relaxing location for your family and guests.

Cleaning

When you purchase patio furniture you may need to worry about painting it each year. Sometimes you even need to worry about rust and finding ways to keep it from rusting and looking great, which can become tiresome. However, that is not the case with wicker patio furniture. You simply need to wipe it down with a damp cloth. Then, just let it air dry. It really does not get any easier than that.

Versatility

When you decide to purchase wicker furniture you will not need to worry about it matching because it will. It is natural and that makes it a great addition anywhere. You simply need to purchase cushions that look great with the area your furniture is in. This is easy and it can be fun and exciting. It also gives you the option or purchasing new cushions when you want a different look. You will never get tired of it.

Chairs

If you are like most people one chair is just not enough. You can never have too many chairs. You never know when you may have two people over or have a big backyard barbeque. Usually your set comes with two to four chairs. However, sometimes even that is not enough. You can purchase additional chairs to fit your needs.

Despite what you may think you do not even have to purchase the same style and type of chair. Sometimes adding different pieces to the overall set really makes a point and stands out from other sets.

It is not always cheaper to buy the pieces individually but if you look for sales you may get a bargain!

Furniture Covers

It would be silly to spend the money on a brand new set for your backyard or porch just to have it go to waste in a short period of time. Some products really do last a lifetime but for those products that do not then a furniture cover may be your best and cheapest bet.

You can purchase these at different price points and also different sizes. They are even made specifically for certain styles. They are easy to find, both online and in stores, and will help protect your furniture from the elements. They help to keep your furniture dry after heavy rains as well.

Cushions

When you purchase new furniture it usually does not come with the cushions. Adding cushions is your opportunity for you to put your personal style into it. There are thousands of cushion styles and types available on the market today. Whether you purchase online or from the store there is sure to be a cushion out there which meets your particular taste and style.

Color is not an obstacle as they come in many different colors, patterns and sizes. You can purchase them as one piece or as separates. The prices generally do range and sometimes they can be a bit pricy but you certainly do not want a great quality product that is uncomfortable to sit in so they are well worth the money. Cushions even allow you to change up your style for a fraction of the price each year without having to go out and purchase a whole new patio set.

Umbrellas and Stands

While only some sets come equipped with a new umbrella and base that does not mean that you cannot purchase one separately. You do, however, want to make sure that your particular set can accommodate an umbrella. Most furniture comes with a hole in the center of the table that allows for the umbrella to be placed securely in the center. The base is there for added support to hold the umbrella up.

Umbrellas come in many sizes, shapes, colors and even styles. There is sure to be one that you will love for your new set. You can even match one to your new cushions.

The umbrella really is essential for those hot summer days to shield you from the sun and to protect your sensitive skin. Depending on the material that the umbrella is made from it may or may not be something that lasts a lifetime.

Benches

Benches are a great addition to any patio set. Not only do they offer additional seating but they also can add a unique flair to any setting. They are available in just as many materials as other types of patio furniture and will vary in price depending on the material that suits your taste.

Things To Consider When Choosing The Perfect Patio Chairs

If you are not quite sure where to start and you need some ideas, the internet and magazines are great tools for you to use. By flipping through a magazine or two you can find pictures of chairs and styles that you like and the styles that you don’t really care for, helping to narrow your search. The internet is also a great tool. You can get a lot of ideas without even leaving your home. A little research will help save time when you go out to purchase your patio chairs.

//
 google_ad_client = "pub-3675169235520386"; /* 336x280, created 7/31/10 */ google_ad_slot = "6954567865"; google_ad_width = 336; google_ad_height = 280;

//

Purchasing a full patio set makes this decision fairly easy. But, if you prefer to mix and match and pick your pieces individually there are a few key points you should consider.

1. Your style and taste.

Do you like traditional or contemporary? Would you like your chairs to make a statement or blend in with the surroundings? Should they have bold colors or neutral colors?

2. What is the current decor in your existing outdoor space?

What material would work best with your style? Do you want to combine types? Combining wicker with either iron or wood can result in a beautiful and quite pleasing design. Patio chairs are also available in several types of stone, including marble and granite. These types of chairs withstand the elements better than some of the other materials available. The downside to these chairs is that they are quite heavy and if you want to rearrange your furniture, they can be difficult to move.

3. Do you have a garden or pool where chairs are also needed?

If you have a table and chairs for dining, you might need to add some matching lounge chairs by the pool. You might also want to think about adding a couple of extra chairs or a bench in your garden area.

4. What kind of surface are your chairs going to be sitting on?

If you have a deck or a patio made from stones or pavers you should be able to choose from any type of chair, metal, wood, wrought iron, or even plastic. If your outdoor living area consists of a grassy area you would need to choose something that won’t sink into the grass, such as aluminum or wicker, which are both lightweight.

5. Will you be adding other accessories?

Accessories may influence the size of chairs that will fit in your outdoor space. If you are adding or already have existing accessories, such as large plants in containers or vases, your chairs will need to be able to fit in the space without seeming cluttered or overcrowded.

6. Comfort

Chairs should be comfortable as well as welcoming for you, and inviting to your guests. You should consider if you want to add cushions for more comfort. There is a wide variety of fabrics available to choose from. Cushions are also a great way to add color and tie your outdoor living spaces together.

Buying In Store

Buying in store does offer some advantages to online shopping.

Shopping in-store means that you get to see the item with your own eyes. You can view the size, shape, detailing and even sit in the product. Sometimes just sitting on a product will help you determine if it is right for you. It could be more uncomfortable than it looks.

Sometimes purchasing in store allows for free delivery and setup. Ask the person selling you the product if you can get free in-home setup. If there is assembly required free setup will make the process much smoother and easier.

There are no shipping fees. You simply go to the store, find what you are looking for and take it home. The shipping and handling fees can be quite pricy on this type of item as it is large and heavy.

No waiting! That’s right, besides the lines at the checkout there is no waiting. You simply go in and find what you want and walk out same-day with it. Besides waiting for them to get it off the shelf it really is pretty much hassle free.

Even though shopping in-store is a great thing sometimes there are cases when online shopping and purchasing can be an advantage.

This includes but is not limited to:

Sometimes shopping online can yield you greater savings! You can do an Internet search to find online coupons. Sometimes there may be free shipping on a purchase over a certain price or even a percentage off your total purchase. Most stores do not offer these types of deals!

There’s a greater selection. While shopping in the store allows you to “see” the item prior to purchasing the quantity available and the selection may be limited. Purchasing online gives you access to hundreds, maybe even thousands, of sites and stores you do not have in your area. They may offer items you may never have had a chance to see before because you were restricted to what was available in your local stores.

If you cannot find the particular item in store or all that they have available at the time is a display model sometimes you can go home and find it online for the same price or perhaps even lower depending on where you choose to purchase. You may have to pay shipping but you may be able to get it faster online than in person in instances like this.

Regardless of how you like to shop either option is a good one. Both yield different results whether it is instant gratification from walking home with a product instantly or getting a bigger selection for a better price. Stores are happy to get rid of their inventory and you are happy to bring home a great product.

When you create a nice, relaxing atmosphere for you and your family you expect it to remain that way all of the time. No one really stops and thinks about the fact that there are times when the weather can turn ugly and your furniture may become a moving target that you need to dodge as the weather does its number. Such a state of affairs does not have to be the case. As long as you fully understand the weather in your area, you will be able to plan for it.

Simple Tips

Purchase Heavy Furniture

If you know that your area suffers from severe storms on a regular basis then you will want to purchase heavy furniture. You may really like wicker furniture, or you may have found a plastic patio set that you really liked the looks of, but these are lightweight materials that may blow away very easily. Therefore, you might need to purchase something that is much heavier so that you do not need to worry about chasing it around all of the time.

Stack Your Chairs

One way to keep your furniture from flying away is to take the time to stack your chairs on top of each other as the storm is moving in. When you stack the chairs on top of each other you will be able to make them heavier. This will help keep them from blowing away. You can actually make this a habit so that when you are not sitting at your patio your chairs will always be stacked. This gives you comfort because you know that they can withstand a storm, even if you are not there.

Consider Locks

Purchasing small chains and locks from a local hardware store can be a great trick to help you secure your patio furniture. If they are locked down then they will not be able to fly away. They may blow over but they will not fly away. Another great thing about this option is that you will also be securing your furniture from theft so that no one can steal them. This can be a common problem if you leave your furniture outside all summer long. Therefore, a lock can have several benefits.

Stakes and Pegs

Think about where your furniture is. If you have it in the yard then you have easy access to the ground. Because of this, you may be able to purchase stakes and steel pegs that you can drive through the legs of your furniture and into the ground. When you do this, your furniture will be completely secure. Just remember that the length of the stakes will help determine how effective this really is for you. You may also want to find stakes that you can paint or that already match the color of your patio set so that they do not look bad or stick out when you use them.
