How to Select Your Patio Furniture Sizes

Before selecting the set that is right for you, you may want to consider the size of the space you are planning to put it in. Along with this here are some other pointers you can use to help you choose the right sized furniture for your needs and environment.

1. Space

  • For small cramped spaces you may want to consider products like three-pieced bistro sets. A bistro set works best for small balconies or for more relaxed intimate settings.
  • For larger backyards and porches you may opt to go with something larger. This is particularly good if you have a large family and need more seating. Perhaps a five-piece set would better suit your needs than something with only three chairs.
  • It may be wise to measure your outdoor space. If you do live in cramped quarters or perhaps have a large backyard but only want to devote a portion of it to your patio set it is best to know how much room you are working with before making a purchase.

2. Suit Your Needs

  • If you entertain a lot then maybe a bar set would be the best option for you. It allows for a relaxed atmosphere while adding ample seating for all of your guests. It is also great for parties.
  • Perhaps you are one of those people who do not always think larger is necessarily better. Just because you have the space for something larger does not mean that you want to purchase something larger.

3. Keep Style in Mind

  • If your personal taste and style is not to go large then perhaps something smaller is better. Even if you find a set that you like it is probably possible to purchase it in smaller pieces. For instance, if it comes with six chairs you may be able to buy three chairs instead.
  • The types of things that you like will also help you to determine what sizes work best for your outdoor living space. For instance, if you do not want a heavy weighed down look then maybe wrought iron or aluminum is not the style you are looking for. While these options are more durable they are very heavy large pieces. Wicker or plastic may be a better option for you.

4. Be Budget Conscious

  • More likely than not your budget is going to be a large determining factor in what size patio set you select. The bigger and more durable the more it is likely to cost. So if your budget is low perhaps sticking with wicker or plastic may be a better option.
  • If you have your heart set on a larger piece but do not have the money or the room then try getting it with fewer pieces. Often if you can get it in five pieces you can also get it in three and it will be much more pocket friendly.
